The Impact of Technological Advancements on HRD
Technological advancements have significantly transformed Human Resource Development (HRD), making learning and development more accessible, efficient, and personalized. As organizations embrace digitalization, technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Learning Management Systems (LMS) are revolutionizing how employees acquire new skills and knowledge.
Another area that has grown
because of technology is, e-learning platforms, which is adopted for the
delivery of human resource development. Unlike traditional in-person training
sessions, e-learning offers employees the flexibility to access training
materials from anywhere, at any time. This has been especially useful for
multinationals with employees, and operations, located in different parts of
the world. Microsoft and Google have integrated advanced e-learning solutions,
which provide employees with informative modules, online workshops, and media
materials, which will help deliver constant and comprehensive training,
regardless of their geographical location.
AI also plays a vital role in
HRD, through provision of customized learning, because everyone learns
differently. AI-driven applications are popular in measuring employees’

design learning solutions aligned with an employee’s role, desired career path,
and productivity figures. This level of personalization is more effective in
increasing participation, and guaranteeing employees receive training, most
useful to improve their performance.
Virtual Reality (VR) is another
innovation that has found its way to HRD practices, especially in areas of
application with a lot of practical demands, such as hands-on training. For
instance, within the healthcare sector, VR is applied to help prepare workers
for potential elaborated tasks, through simulation. In addition to engagement,
VR also provides rich and engaging learning experiences for the learner, which
enhances recall and skill development for employees.
Furthermore, Learning Management

employee development. These platforms work as a central repository for
resources that are relevant to employees’ training and development, and issue
related certificates. LinkedIn and Coursera provide sound platforms for LMS,

enhance the staff’s competence levels.
Therefore, the application of
technology in the learning process has enhanced a new paradigm in the delivery
of HRD, to suit the change-oriented millennium generation. Technologies like
artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and e-learning enable organizations
to offer employees the best training, which will improve organizational success
and each employee’s effectiveness.
